Why this blog and why am I reading it?

Well, I decided to start this blog to help people like me who are planning a big move to the city life and lights of New York.

Although I managed to squeeze a week trip out of work to go and check the city out, living over in the UK, with no contacts in NYC, meant the majority of my research had to be done online or through skimming the occasional book. As useful, and as factual as the information they provided me with was, what surprised me the most was that I couldn't find any personal accounts of someones move to the city.

There were a few blog posts but none really seemed to capture some of the information that could answer those questions running through my mind worrying me the most.

Was it possible to find a place to live easily? Is it dangerous to view places on your own? How can you meet people to be friends with in such a fast paced and busy city? Is it easy? What unexpected problems had people encountered on such a move? Could you go out on your own to bars? Are people rude/friendly? etc etc.

This blog is here to change that and let you get a glimpse of a persons WHOLE experience of moving to somewhere like New York.

.......Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy embarking on this emotional roller coaster with me
